Hi there, I'm going to rent out my house soon. I'll be a first time landlord. I'm fairly confident about all the laws and things I need to know to be a landlord. My ex partner also owns the house. She has not been contributing towards the mortgage or any household bills for a long time. Do you think I should put her name on the lease as a landlord, as well as mine? Ill be the main contact for the tenants - she will have nothing to do with it. Also, I believe I have to do my taxes as a landlord in October. Will she also need to do her taxes as a landlord? She will have nothing to do with the letting of the house or any of the organising of it. Any advice, much appreciated, thanks!

You need to get this answered by a professional, that is too specific a case to allow general discussion here.
There are legal and tax implications for both of you here so please contact a solr and tax advisor.
