NCT spare wheel

    HI,

My car has a full sized spare wheel stowed below the luggage compartment floor.

About a year ago I had a puncture, and I found the knurled knob that secures the wheel to the floor seized with rust, due to a water leak.

So, I had to break it off to get the wheel out.

I believe the spare has to be "secured" where fitted for the NCT test.

My question is, even though I don't have one of those stupid puncture repair systems in lieu of a spare wheel, can I simply present the car for the test with the spare wheel omitted, thereby bypassing the broken wheel-lock issue?

    Thanks

Yes you can. The spare wheel is only checked if it is present, however it is not a requirement for the test.
