Has anyone any ideas of the lead in times for new connections from Eircom to new builds? Ie time of order to actual connection?

    Any other tips or advice?

    Thanks

    Hi Miller 63

Myself and my good lady are going through the self build at the moment.

I phoned up Eircom in/around the end of August and set up the account and details for the account, they then sent me a confirmation letter with the details.

I think within 2 weeks they had KN Networks out to our site to see where they could bring the connection from to our property. Another week went by and another guy on his own from KN Networks was out having a look and said the connection could be brought into us using their own underground ducting and told us to bring out ducting from our house out to Eircom's chamber in the grass verge which we did, then we had a couple more visits over the next 2 weeks before final connection was actually made.

So in total it took us almost 6weeks before we had the connection into the house made by Eircom. End of October we had it all connected.

Good man thanks, so with four months to go I shouldn't need to panic just yet!

    Cheers

Yea you definitely have still enough time with 4 months still to go, I contacted them too early as I thought it would take them months and that I would have to be constantly chasing them for the connection but we ended up getting the connection in 1.5months after we started the build, and sure we won't be in the house I'd say until end of March early April, but sure hey ho, at least we have the connection done now

    Best of luck with it:D

How much is connection if you don't mind me joining in?

When I was getting the connection, I phoned up Eircom to see what the connection would be, they informed me that there was no connection fee for the line connection into the house, or any infrastructure works that may have been required, i.e a new pole erected etc. However on our first phone bill in the door there was a connection fee of only about 27euro or so.

Basically you sign up with Eircom for a minimum of a year I think it is,
