Does anyone know if the service parts for an Alfa 159 JTDM 16V are the same as for an equivalent Opel Insignia?

EDIT: Fuel filter is the most important item here as it's €110+VAT from Alfa. The only other one I've been offered is spurious and costs €90+VAT.

Would a vectra not be closer related engine wise?

Opps! Ya it would. Brain fart moment although I'm pretty sure the Insignia came with the 1.9CDTI until 2010?

Always the 2 litre version of that engine. Parts might be interchangeable but there little profit to be had in doing that:pac:

The Insignia was never fitted with the 1.9 CDTi engine. It was the 2.0 CDTI engine which was also fitted to later 159 models though I think the 159 was killed off here by that stage. 2.0 CDTi is a reworked version of the 1.9 though so some parts are probably the same.

Astra, Vectra, Zaferia, Saab 9-3 and 9-5 would have had the 1.9 litre.

Go back into your Fiat/Alfa Dealer and ask for part number 71773197. It's the same filter, only it costs 62.94 + VAT

Nothing is interchangeable with the Insignia.

The Alfa and the Vectra use the same oil filter, but all the other filters are different.

I think since the start of the year my posts and train of thought are getting worse. This thread has been a fine example, and as ever George, thank you.
