"Oily" passenger seat in Toyota Corolla

    Hey all,

Have an oily passenger seat in my Toyota Corolla. Had a similar problem with a previous car, but I had put it down to a bag of chips or three sitting on it (extra vinegar leaking though). Current car, nothing goes onto the seat unless it's in a plastic bag. However, over a while, it has gotten an "oily" texture.

Have put a powered dehumidifier into the car overnight, but it only got a small amount of water in it this morning, and the seat is still feels oily.

Thus, I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that does car upholstery that I could ask how to treat this, as I cannot use the passenger seat in the meantime.

The Toyota Corolla is 2006 (got it about 2.5 years ago).

    The Honda Civic was 2002.

Corollas get white seats from getting wet, think its fire retardant coating or something that seeps through. Happens in avensis too. Not sure if that is what's happening here.

Assume its a terra model with black seats?

Sounds about right. Tried shampooing the seat, and although it kinda worked for a bit, it's starting to come back with the "chalky" heel, and given time, the dampness will come back.

Got Lidl seat covers recently, so now just need to get plastic seat covering to put underneath.

Anyone have any idea where to get the plastic bag seat covers?
