Flying from Dublin to London landing at 10am, have a connecting flight to Las Vegas at 11.20am. Am I cutting it too fine or will I make it in plenty of time?

    Gatwick.

Are you flying out on Virgin or BA to LAs Vegas? All the inbounds arrive into the south termianl at Gatwick (EI/FR) and while VS flights to LAS leave from south, BA departures are from Gatwick North (for now). Do you have a single booking (in which case you should be "protected" for a misconnect) or do you have separate tickets? I have seen 1 hr 15 mins quoted as a minimum connection time from "domestic" (in which they include Dublin) to international but I am not sure if that includes a terminal change.

Flight connections will be efficient but, given the small number of flights per day (1 I believe), I would have left more time.

Thanks for the reply. We are flying to Vegas witg Virgin.
I booked the flights through gotogate.com so I would assume its a single booking, but I could be wrong.
Tbh looking at the booking now the return flight is a disaster too. 3hrs to get from Gatwick to Heathrow. Impossible.
I'm going to have to try change both Are Lingus flights!

Do you have a single PNR/booking number indicating that it is a single protected booking? 3 hours to get from LGW to LHR may well be sufficient but why did you accept that routing in the first place? You may not be able to change without hefty fees.

It can happen, you just see LONDON and wouldn't even think about it being two different airports.

Honestly, I didn't realise how far apart they were from each other, stupid error on my behalf yes, I know. I was actually more excited about the earlier arrival in Dublin.
Yes I only have one booking number.
I'm not massively concerned about coming home but I am worried about going.
I've emailed the company I booked with asking about changing one or both. So, I'll have to wait and see.
I was mostly just wondering if an hour 20 or even an hour would be sufficient time to get to our flight with virgin. Both are in south terminal.

My advice would be to change both tickets if possible. I've flown twice with virgin through Gatwick on this route and it has taken at least 2 hours on both occasions to get through Gatwick. You are forced to not only do security again in Gatwick but also queue up to have your boarding pass reissued. Not sure why but they don't accept the ones printed out in Dublin for the US leg of the flight.

Sorry for cutting in on your thread OP but I have a query regarding travel to the USA via London myself. I am travelling with BA to Houston and was wondering what the VISA process will be like. I know that you can't do pre-clearance in London like you do here, so am I right in thinking that I am just going to have to queue for eternity when I arrive in Houston? I am flying with BA all the way, with DUB-LHR operated by Aer Lingus, so connections won't be an issue.

Queue depends on the number of international flights arriving at the same time as yours and how many of those are from higher risk (security or immigration wise) than yours. You're effectively asking how long is a piece of string so the answer is that it's impossible to predict. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it's short and sweet

Yep. You will go thru the customs and immigration check point when you arrive in Houston. How long it will take is like asking how long is a piece of string. It all depends on how many other international flights are landing at roughly the same time as yours, and how many staff are manning the NCIS booths at the time.

You could zip on thru, or you could be there for a while. If it's any consolation, I don't think that Houston has the same terrible reputation for hellishly long immigration queues that the likes of JFK, LAX & Chicago O'Hare have.

Check the CBP tool to approximate wait times at any given port of entry.
