    Hi

We are having our wedding in the Anglers Rest later this year.

Just wondering whether anybody could recommend any hotels which would be reasonably convenient to it for our non-Dublin based guests to stay in?

Would somewhere in the city centre be a bit too inconvenient for guests? Obviously it would give us lots of options, but don't want to make things too difficult.

Also, do you know if hotels would offer any form of group deal or discount to us if we were just looking for a number of rooms, rather than having the reception there?

It's very close to the city centre- it is just outside of the city, through the park.
Can't imagine taxis being that expensive - €15/20

The Castleknock golf and county club hotel is very close also.

Talk to Anglers about whether they have any deals with any hotel. They mention the Ashling hotel on their website.

There's the Castleknock Hotel and there's also the Crowne Plaza in Blanchardstown Centre would be pretty close by taxi.

The Ashling is the one they have a deal with I think?
The Hilton in Kilmainham wouldn't be too bad either.

The spa in Lucan would possibility do a deal. Lucan finnstown hotel looks gorgeous. I would also say the anglers would give suggestions. My family don't want to stay at the ashling so I need to check this out also. What kind of place were you thinking.

googlemaps lucan, liexlip, blanchardstown, castleknock, tyrellstown, city centre. Must be 50 hotels, B&Bs, hostels, travel lodges within 10 minutes drive. Something for everyone.

we got married in the Anglers rest and used the Aisling Hotel but tbh they werent very accommodating.

they wont give us an early check in, and insisted we could only check in after 3pm.

Now it wasnt too bad for us because we werent getting married until 530pm but it was still annoying, as i wanted to leave a present in the room for the groom and it meant my friend had to bring her overnight bag to the wedding (she was getting primped and preened with me)

Why anyone would want to stay in the West County or the Travelodge is beyond me... especially when there are nicer options within the same area.

Me personally I'd be checking out the Castleknock hotel first

Some guests may be on a limited budget. Best to give a variety of options in lots of different price brackets

Think the Castleknock Hotel would be best for the B&G

OP - you might want to put this up on the D15 thread.....you might get further suggestions

It's actually the same price to stay in the West County as the Castleknock or the Carlton... so I know which I'd be choosing.

I think the Travelodge would be offered up as the cheaper option?

Hi, we got married in the Angler's in July. Couldn't stay in the Castleknock Hotel as they have a one bride a day policy (the issue was the residents bar). We did a tour of all the hotels within a 15 min drive of the venue and choose the Crowne Plaza. I had dismissed it because it's in the car park of the Blanchardstown Centre, but it's actually really fab inside and the food is great (we tried the breakfast in advance, the groom and family had their dinner there the night before the wedding and we've gone for dinner since). We hired a bus for our guests so they could have a drink if they liked. Couldn't fault the Anglers or the Crowne Plaza. They were great all the way through. Hope this helps! :-)
