there is still some catching when I walk plus it's still stiff, and tighter/harder to pull back when I do stretches by lifting it up to my backside, feels a little lose inside the knee, still some pain, some pain when i kneel though that has been decreasing, when i move direction while kneeling the good leg adjusts the patella (with a little popping) but the bad legs patella feels like it's not moving at all (possibly due to a little swelling?) anyone have an experience of this, and know if it is normally this long? i've stretched, done strength exercises, physio said there's no big problem and should heal but it hasn't yet, doctor said the same, i can't run as fast now either, the day after i got the blow which caused the contusion i went back running, maybe that's why it hasn't fully healed yet? Doc said there may be a small tear in epiphyseal cartilage, mri reported a bakers cyst and edema problems

Pretty sure you can't ask for any kind of advice for that here because of legal issues.

Bones do "bruise" internally, for runners, classic case from stress caused by overuse, drastic changes in route patterns, shoe issues, etc. This bruising only shows on MRIs, not X-Rays.

Best thing is you should go to your doctor and consult. MRI and if that's the case then it's gonna be rest, rest, rest. I'd have expected 1-2 months would get you back running, though not to full strength, and that's after putting no stress at all on it during that period.

It *may* be something else after that period of time, so your doc is the best best on your diagnosis and recovery options.

That's good advice there. Have to lock this now, we can't give out medical advice here. Best of luck.
