New Years Eve wedding

    We are having a New Years Eve wedding. Looking for ideas on little touches we could do to make the evening more special!

    I was at a NYE wedding a couple of years ago. They had bubbly and fireworks at midnight. They also named the tables after countries in different timezones around the world and had party poppers on the table. Each table celebrated the new year when that country did so from 6pm or so onwards there were tables shouting 'happy new year' every hour. Was quite fun :D

    I know everyone here hates it but I think black tie is nice on new years eve.

    We got married on NYE just gone and we had a balloon drop at midnight.

    Didn't quite work though cos the balloon's never dropped so a tall person jumped and pulled the whole lot down. Was actually a good laugh though.

    Great idea! How much did it cost and how many balloons did you have? How did you arrange it with the hotel?

    The hotel actually offered it to us as part of our package when we told them we wanted NYE, they said that we could either have a balloon drop or chinese lanterns outside. We chose the balloons because we didn't want to have to haul everyone outside at midnight...
