My sister has a second car which she normally uses during the suumer or at weekends.

Over the last few months she has had trouble starting the car, essentially the battery is flat after two days , so it has to be jump started.

She has brought the car back to the VW agent, but they cannot locate any issue.

Has anyone come across this type of issue and how was it resolved ?

    Many thanks,

    d.:)

Has the car had an aftermarket radio or Alarm fitted ?

I would google parasitic battery drain, anyone with a multimeter, a little bit of know how and a weekend to spare should be able to trace the problem.

Most garages won't have any interest in trying to diagnose a problem like this, as it takes serious man hours and takes away from the bread and butter stuff.

Original VW Radio and alarm fitted.

Thank you , I suspected if the issue does not appear on the VW diagnostics , they would have no interest in wasting time on it.

Parasitic battery drain...........you are sending me in the right direction. Thank you. My first port of call is the radio, ignition switch , alarm, central locking, alternator, enough to keep me entertained on my next visit , I guess??

    Many thanks:)
