    Hey guys,
I'm gonna be travelling around europe for a few weeks and I'm wondering what is the best option for handling my money.
I currently only have a visa debit card but I've been told it might be better to get a credit card as with that if you can put a limit on it and if it gets stolen and you notify the bank in time only a certain amount can be taken whereas with the debit card you can be cleaned out.
(Though I'm not completly sure on either of those points)

Alternatively I've read you can get a prepaid credit card(visa do one with 02),load it with a certain amount of money and works pretty much the same as a normal one(apart from the fee's to load money onto it).
So that seems a good option.

I honestly think a mix of the three is a good idea (don't store them all in the same place ) I'd primarily use my visa debit card and then my prepaid card and finally for any emergencies the credit card would get used.

As for prepaid card I would suggest the 02 money card. I've had one for ages that I used to save money with (particularly for travel) it expires as the end of the year so I need to order another one soon.

I'd at least bring a visa debit and the some money on a prepaid card for any emergencies for piece of mind.

If you're going to be using your card to book hotels, a credit card is best. Most hotels will put a hold on the card for the room fee plus incidentals. On a credit card that's just a pre-authorisation and will come off when you've paid and checked out, however if they put a hold on a debit card it could take 7 days to clear and you won't be able to use that money in the meantime.
