Results week this week. everything ok apart from biology being a total diaster. I got an E- grade (30%-34%).. I noticed an email from peter mckeown stating our practicals and online tests were included in this grade?

Seems very low to me still.. i havnt a clue what way biology is graded unlike the others..
Anyone know where i stand with my grade so? like what have i got at the moment and what do i need to pass biology come next april or may?

    Thank you

If you're doing BO101 it should be fine once you do better next semester. You don't have to pass each paper overall, at least you didn't last year anyway, once your overall mark is higher than 40% it's fine, so you'd need to aim to get at least 50% or so this semester to pass.

You'll have to work harder to bring your mark up. All the grades released are a combination of exam + continuous assessment. Unless things have changed, your exam was worth 60% and labs, MCQ's etc are the remaining 40%. You're currently failing but if you do well in semester 2 biology you can pass overall, each semester is worth 50% of BO101 and it's your overall mark at the end of the year that counts. Best of luck.
