Send item without outer box

I am thinking of selling something on Ebay that is a long shape (approx. 80cm long) and I cannot find any suitable outer boxes.
I don't want to buy in bulk but I didn't see a box that is the correct size on sites like Vikingdirect anyway.

The item is in the original cardboard box. Would it be OK to wrap it in parcel paper without any outer box? Due to the size and weight of the item I would send it through Parcel2Go (Nightline or TNT).

    Thanks in advance. :)

One other question, when I have sold things on eBay before (originally listed on ebay.ie), they appear in the 'from international sellers' section on ebay.co.uk. This was not the case with the first thing I sold though. Does this still happen? Should I list it on the UK site instead? Would there be any problem with listing it on the UK site? Thanks.

It is fine to send with no outer box either wrapped in parcel paper or in a parcel bag

If you cannot find an exact fitting box to fit, why not drop down to you local supermarket and get a couple of cardboard boxes from them and cut them up into the size you need.
Wrap the original outer box in paper.
Then cover that with your cardboard pieces cut to size and held together with parcel tape.
Cover again with paper and send it on its way.

Thanks for the answers. Cutting up boxes seems like to much trouble so I think I might wrap it in two layers of parcel paper.

I assume that the picture you displayed had the box in perfect condition, and that this helped get a decent price? Should the buyer receive the package with obvious transportation damage caused by poor packaging, the buyer may not accept the package.

I haven't listed the item yet. I might wait until I have accumulated some Amazon boxes and make a new box out of them.
