    It's coming out on tablets too, I assumed the PC version is just a souped up tablet port?

    That kind of hex based turn based stuff (from what I can see in the videos) works equally well on tablet and PC. Panzer Corps for example is excellent on either platform with no compromises needed to make it work on tablet (originally developed for PC). Being turn based allows for much more complex games on tablets, real-time stuff needs to be simpler because touch interfaces can't match the kind of input control a controller or mouse & keyboard gives.

    They briefly touched on the links between the games but I'm not sure if I heard any concrete, save-importing features, that'd carry you from a BE game into a Starships game.

    That would be cool.

    Having it morph into a different style of game would be a more novel way to flesh out BE than just making the game itself more intricate.

    I'll be keeping an eye on it but I was pretty disappointed with BE if I'm being honest. I've actually gone back to Civ 5 again instead.
