    Hi guys

I got my wife an I-OCEAN X8 mini recently and it's a lovely phone, but recently, it's stopped charging when turned on.

    Its running android 4.4.2

It charges fine if it's switched off, but when it's turned on, the battery charging indicator doesn't even come on.

I thought it was a damaged charging port, but there are no problems with recognising the charger when the power is off. I've tried multiple chargers and multiple USB Cables and I've also cleaned checked the phone for anything that might be blocking the connectors.

I've used the chargers with other phones and tablets and they all work fine, so the charger's are not the problem

The chargers are usb cables attached to a socket in the wall, not through a computer other usb charging devices...

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do to sort this out?

How does it behave when connected to a PC?

I've seen this issue before with Samsung smartphones. Its likely one of the power ICs on the motherboard is broken and needs to be replaced. It could be a battery issue but is less likely.

I don't think it goes into USB mode, but I'll have to double check it when I go home

Just an update in case anyone is interested.

It's started to work again. It spontaneously fixed itself. Obviously those crafty chinese manufacturers have integrated nanobots into their phones to perform self repairs.

Skynet alert, someone inform those doomsday clock guys that we're getting closer to the singularity.
