Attic Keeps Opening / Very Dangerous

Well its a pull down attic with a circular lock that you pull down and its not very reliable and stable. On windy days it would completely come down with sheer force and can potentially cause severe brain injuries.

Not great with home construction but can anyone help please?

Have someone downstairs to help you, then go up into the attic and close the hatch. Check the latch is engaging fully. If it's barely catching you could try packing thin strips of wood/metal/plastic between the latch receiver and the frame. If the components are obviously worn or damaged then you may need to replace the lock. Check the attic ladder companies for replacement locks.

An ugly and somewhat inconvenient option would be to surface mount a door/slide bolt to the underside and bolt the attic door shut when not in use.
