Replace case - reinstall required?

I have a HTPC running Media Portal for all my TV and media usage. It's in an Antec Fusion matx case measuring 45cm wide, 42cm deep, 14cm high.

I had the guy doing our built-in wardrobes build a TV unit to house the HTPC and AV receiver but somewhere along the lines, wires got crossed and he's built it too small to house the Antec Fusion case - depth is the problem, it sticks out at the front a few CM so the doors won't close. Currently I have it stacked on its side behind the TV but the fans are working overtime and noise is huge, won't do this for long.

If you change case, do you have to reinstall the operating system (Windows 8.1 Pro) or so long as you don't change any of the key components, will Windows think the setup has not changed (i.e. not notice the box has changed) and allow the OS continue to be used?

The HTPC setup is highly tedious for channel setup etc. and the Hyperspin arcade game system I have setup, so I really don't want to have to reinstall Windows and reset things up, it's about 10 hours that I just don't have since arrival of our new baby.

If I can change it to a new case without reinstalling, what would be a good option? I'm thinking a more cuboid shape (Fusion is quite rectangular and shallow) like a Shuttle might be good? Roughly speaking, 35cm high, 25cm deep, 45cm wide. Not too worried about appearance as it'll be behind black glass doors, quietness is more important.

It's a micro-ATX mobo, with a TV tuner card and graphics card with fan as the only two cards installed. i3 540 CPU, 4GB RAM. I'd probably change the PSU if I can get away with it to something new that'll be quiet enough. Thanks for any pointers.
