Hi, I am hoping that someone might be able to advise me here. I have a Wolf Power generator which is a pretty good unit but the pull starter is now screwed. It does not engage and so I cant start the thing. Has anyone any idea where I can get a new pull start unit without spending a fortune to get it. Cheers all.

Whats wrong with the pullstart? They are usually repairable if you strip and clean and relubricate them.

It seems that the nylon rachet parts seem to have stripped CJ so it doesn't connect with the shaft.

Can you post some pics? There were a number of generators branded Wolfcraft and they are not the same.

Remove the pullstart cover and all its bits and wrap some strong cord around the shaft - pull, and away you go. The Farmers pull-start. :D

Yes certainly, its a Wolf Power WP3500LR Generator.
I like the idea of the power cord on the shaft but its a smooth shaft so would still need to get some sort of pulley on it to be able to wind on.

Cordless drill with 19mm socket, that will start her.

Not sure that will work but need to strip it off again to see. Will look at alternative methods though. Just wondered if there were any suggestions who may hold spares since the company went bust. Cheers though.

Go to local scrap metal yard, if you have one close. Very often you will find small motor s dumped in there. Bring your own pull start and a screwdriver to check if anything fits. There's always ebay.co.uk as well.
