I desperately need one of these since 5 minutes ago:

    https://www.roadietuner.com/

"Simply connect Roadie to the tuning peg, strum the string, and watch Roadie tune it for you."

It looks pretty handy. I could use it for my acoustic guitar, as I use a modified tuning (a few cents off here and there). That kind of precise tuning doesn't happen when you are doing it manually at 4 AM at a hooley, but now it just might!!!

    Whaddyathink?

I think a 4am at a hooley precise tuning might be lost on most people!

    THe yoke looks interesting, though.

It's a neat little gadget but can't see the point myself.
If it didn't require a phone it would be nice, the fact that you need the mic on your phone/instrument cable plugged into it makes it completely pointless and inconvenient.

A few cents off here and there? Why would you do that, sounds like an out of tune guitar, mmm nice!

I think it works without your phone, the app just addes other opetion to it - maybe I'm wrong.
If it needs a phone it can **** right off, what's the point! You'd be better of with a clip-on tuner.

EDIT: it does need a phone. It is therefore an utterly pointless piece of kit that will be of no use to a gigging guitarist ever..

Oh yeah in many cases I wouldn't bother. I wouldn't use it as my only tuner at every gig. But it would certainly be quicker for me to use it when I do want my fancy tuning.

Actually, no, it sounds like a slightly more in-tune guitar. Tuning on an acoustic guitar or a piano is all about compensating. You'll never get a guitar where every single note is perfectly in tune. You just want it to be more in tune with itself.

Your man JT says it better:
