Is it difficult for a recently qualified GP (having done the 4 year training programme) obtain a postion in Ireland. I assume main areas would be in group medical practices.

The fact that you chose this forum to pose this type of question does not inspire confidence. Try contacting the IMC, IMO and HSE.

And you expect this forum to? GP jobs are a particularly niche market place, you need to go through the necessary medical channels. Where are you based? I assume you are outside Ireland.

I know a fair few people who've finished in the last 2 years, none of whom have had too much difficulty getting jobs (usually doing maternity leaves, OOH work initially).
