You have to understand the part he may have been supplying could have been of a far superior quality. Replacing parts is not about fitting the cheapest possible available dirt from ebay/micks garage etc.

really Rex, thats absolute crap im afraid!

im fairly good with cars myself and priced a good brand C.V joint and boot for 50 delivered. The mechanic said supplying the part alone was 100. Sorry but thats adding 60euro more to what the supplier charges as he would be getting that at trade price. Ive used this brand in all cars i have owned and had no problem what so ever with them infact they are recommended by most motor factors/mechanics.

If you were good enough with cars to understand the differences, you wouldn't need a mechanic to change it for you ;)

I don't know how much actual experience you have with micksgarage, but I have gotten numerous items from them and am more than happy with the products, service, fast delivery and after sales service, where many suppliers seem to fall down.

Anything I've ever gotten from them has always been a reputable, well know brand name and have just recently ordered some items on special offer, with reductions of up to 75% over the recommended retail price.

I have no connection whatsoever with the company, just voicing my experience.

Im not saying they dont sell good parts, they sell both good and bad parts with the latter generally being more expensive :)

Here's a guy in the UK I find very good for some oddball stuff that's not easily available here.
2 or 3 year's warranty on most stuff. I only use him the odd time but never a problem.

But, no doubt there is some s--t out there also.
