FETAC Distinction?

I was just wondering, is it difficult to get a distinction when doing a FETAC computer course? I've heard some people say it's not that difficult but I know someone who did a level 4 and 5 course and she said as far as she can remember, no one in her class actually got a distinction. So it left us both a little curious. Thank you!

I think it depends on the person, some people do FETAC to get into college and therefore are committed to being study mode for the next few years and put a bit more effort it. In this case it would be easy to get a distinction if you accept that effort has to be put in. Some people just do a FETAC because they just want to that specific qualification to go out to work (security studies being a good example of this) I think those people don't put in as much effort as they may not like studying and just need the cert and can't wait to get back out working. They would maybe find it harder to get a distinction as there future career wouldn't really require them distinctions, so they just put in enough to pass.

Also different courses are going to be harder. Science for example would be harder than office studies.

Under your college Quality assurance system your tutor/teacher should be able to outline the difference in your subject between a merit and a distinction. Its often about analyzing and applying your understanding of atopic aas well as having an excellent level of knowledge .
