Hi there folks. Have you ever thought of seeing expensive things online but never have the capacity to ever buy them in the first place because of the high price?

Here is my story to give you a little flavour of what happened to me tonight which just happened at a spur of the moment type of thing.

I did a recent price check on a Blu-ray set from Amazon in Germany named Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology. This purchase is noted as an exclusive from Amazon.de in Germany. The set has exactly the same amount of discs in them. Both box sets from the UK and Germany have 8 discs each inside. The set is region B which effectively covers all of Europe and North Africa.

The price though would set you back in a huge way. Amazon in Germany is offering people this set for the cost of a whopping €135 at a minimum list price. The maximum price would set you back nearly €200 by looking at the offer listings.

The offer listings for the set are here below

Luckily though, I had paid for the UK release of the same set last week from Amazon UK for a list price of £7.49 which amounts to just €10.03 when converted through the Oanda Currency Converter. When all of the VAT and delivery charges are added on, it would have added up to just under €19. A great bargain that must have been had. Another good thing is that the UK set that I have got from Amazon UK is region free which means that it can be played on any Blu-ray player known to man, woman and child worldwide.

When I looked at the price of the German version, my mouth would have dropped to the floor if I was going to buy it but glad I didn't.

Have you guys ever looked at expensive things online that you loved deeply and just thought that were just financially way out of your reach and finding a different way to get a purchase for much cheaper? This can relate to any item of your choosing. Discuss.
