Flying to Amsterdam this weekend, do I have to do anything before my trip?

Can I just check in and everything at the airport or would I need to do it online before I go?

I looked at it online last week and it was making me purchase seats, there was no seats already selected?

If I leave it for airport will I incur any additional charges? Can I get return boarding pass at Dublin airport or would I need to do this again at Amsterdam?

    Thanks for any help!

You can do it all at the airport, you don't have to do it online if you don't want to. They have little machines.
You can do it all again at Amsterdam.

When you get to the airport you can use the green machines near the aer lingus check in desks to get your boarding card and then use the tag and drop desk to check in any check in bags you have.

You will be able to do the same in Amsterdam, althiough if you have check in bags it I would leave yourself some extra time. I spent half an hour waiting to tag and drop my case due to loads of people before me having cases that were over weight.

If you want to select a seat, you can do so for free beginning 30 hours before the flight. Just check-in from home and either download and print your boarding pass at home (recommended if flying early in the morning when those green kiosks will be busy) or check-in at home but elect to print the boarding pass at one of the green kiosks when you get to the airport. If you are checking in a bag, don't go near the green machines, go to a regular Aer Lingus check-in desk where they will take the bag and give you a boarding card.

Just to be clear - seat selection is free beginning 30 hours before your flight. You will have to check-in for the return flight in Amsterdam, you can normally only check-in and get a boarding card for both the outward and return flights if you are going out and back on the same day.

You can use the Aer Lingus app if you have a smart phone. Check in online 30 hours before departure and select a seat for free and keep your boarding card on your phone.

I used it last week travelling DUB-LHR and it was so easy.
