question about dvd players?

    Are you able to record on to a blank dvd disk a tv programme with your bog standard dvd player or do you need a specialist dvd player with a harddrive ect?

    You will need a DVD recorder rather than just a player.
    There are very few recorders on the market which support Saorview. Older models will support Freeview but not Saorview. If recording from an external source such as a Sky box, then any recorder with a scart input should work.
    Don't necessarily need a hard drive if macine can record direct to disk.
