    Hello,
If someone started driving lessons years ago, done the 12 EDT lessons, then stopped, abandoned learning to drive, had their learner permit expired for more than a year, then suddenly decided to get back to driving and renewed their learner permit, can they start it all from zero? especially if they have forgotten what they learnt in those 12 lessons? Can they get a new logbook then? (especially if they are going to restart the lessons with a different instructor)?

There's no need to get a new logbook as you're already registered with the RSA as having completed the EDT lessons. There's nothing stopping you doing 12 or more lessons with another instructor, and they should be able to assess what level you're at without the need for a logbook.

You don't need the log book any more. The original 12 EDT lessons that you did, must be logged as being done on the RSA's website. Once they are, you can apply to sit your test. If you decide to get more lessons, its up to you, but no longer have to get a log book, or register any more lessons with the RSA.

You can login here to check your EDT lessons and if they're checked off:
