I'm looking to sell on this old sign. I have it years but it's just sitting in the attic.
I wonder where you would reccommend is the best place to try? It's a bit heavy I would think for shipping on eBay. There's one currently on sale on Adverts but it's in even worse condition.

From what I can see on-line it appears to be from circa 1920

You could bring it to an auctioneer and see what they say or try it on adverts.

Thanks Preusse, sorry only added the picture today. Is there a particular auctioneer in Dublin that would specialise in advertising?

Cheers for that Chopper. I was wondering that because any I saw on-line in auction houses were in better nick. Adverts it is so :)

A word of advice about adverts.

People expect to get stuff for nothing so if you put up a price of say 80 quid chances are somebody will offer you 20,or 40.

Then you might get an offer of 70 which you accept and you never hear from the person again and your ad is now only worth 70.

This is a good example although the price he's asking is far too high.

try and see who's selling stuff like that and get a feel for how much you can ask for it,then add 20% for the messers.

    Good luck.

He's at least €250-300 too high for that sign. :D

That is good advice thank you and something that has happened to me in the past.
I was telling a friend about putting a few things on it and he told me of his own bad experiences. When he contacted customer care to tell them the way he'd been messed around he was told that yes, it's full of messers!

The best thing to do is leave negative feedback if somebody messes you around, makes an offer and then declines further contact.

i think some people just spend thier day acting the maggot on adverts knowing there's no real fear of censure.

That's what happened to my friend, the person had managed to leave bad feedback on him but he was unable to do likewise. Something to do with blocking the person after you leave the feedback I think.
