US earnings season

    So does anyone play earnings season, maybe dip you toe in for hopefully a quick buck?

    Some interesting results so far.

    Microsoft disappointed and were down about 10%, blaming the strong dollar for disappointing results.
    Apple just reported record iPhone sale at 74.5 million phones sold for the quarter, with record revenue.
    Yahoo spinning off their Alibaba stake driving shares higher, like a cover up for the disappointing core business with advertising revenue falling.
    Netflix which is one I played, added about 4.5 million new subscribers for the previous quarted, I bought a small amount at $338 a share, sold at $411, should have held on as they are now over $450.

    Facebook tomorrow, I will just watch.
    Google on Thursday.

    Tim Cook of Apple says they sold on average 34,000 phones every hour of every day for the previous quarter.
    Profits for the quarter of $18 billion.

    The Apple numbers are breathtaking. I wonder did anyone take Niall Harbison’s investment tips a while back and go in for a large short position in Apple

    Alibaba announcing tomorrow should see big moves. I've been monitoring through a demo acc on IG, and there are big opportunities on the spreads at the minute...getting on at 9940 and off at 10100 20 minutes later etc.
