Holiday refund claim

    Hi
I was away on holidays before Xmas.
I booked with a UK online company who provide links to owners of apartments.
I paid the UK company - they pay the owner.
I was very unhappy with the substandard quality of the apartment after I arrived and I had to cancel my holiday and find alternative accommodation at my own expense.
After a lot of arguing and stress/pressure from the owner I accepted approx 50% of a refund simply because I felt that if I didn't I would get nothing.
I have sent numerous emails to the UK company but they are refusing to refund me the balance of my loss and are continually saying I have to resolve the issue with the owner - not with them despite the fact that it was them I had paid in full.
Can anyone advise what course of action I should take if I cannot get any further satisfaction.
    Thank you

You'll have to look at the terms and conditions of the website you used, if they say they were just putting you in contact with owners and acting as couriers for the money then there's probably little enough you can do. But start with looking at their T&C's.

Is there a Travel Ombudsman or some other agency I could contact to take up my case for me ?

    Thank you

The European Small Claims process may help:

as schemingboheamia suggests, you need to find out who your case is against, the UK company or the apartment owner.
