"Shoot" Remote Timer - Canon 5d Markiii

    Hi
I bought an inexpensive "Shoot" remote timer to use with my Canon 5d Mark iii but unfortunately I can't get it to fire any shots.
I have it set up correctly as far as I can see.
It does trigger off some part of the camera as I can hear the sound of the lens moving - but it is not actually firing any shots.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what may be wrong.

    Thank you

Is this happening when you are trying the timer part? try it first to activate the shutter directly (without timer function) The noise you hear is probably the focus motor. Try googling youtube for a demo.
