I will most likely have to go down the route of small claims court soon, my questions regards who will I be claiming against.
The supplier (local agent) is aware of the issue but I have been dealing solely with the manufacturing company since the problem occurred, they are also an Irish company.
Do i take the case against the supplier or the manufacturing company, I would prefer to take it against the manufacturer as the local supplier has been very helpful and its the manufacturer who are trying to wriggle out of their responsibility.

You bought from a shop (supplier) so your contract is with them. Since they are a supplier, their contract is with the manufacturer.

So, your claim would be against the supplier.

That's what I thought, I just though I could take it against the manufacturer instead. Thanks for clarifying that.
