HI there..I'm in the process of setting up a small yard for D.I.Y livery. We have 10 acres and are on the hill in Kellystown so plenty of space to hack. .applied for.planning for indoor arena and also getting sand arena down... what is the realistic price for livery in these areas... It's hard to know. We are looking at only 5 to stable.for now as it's a yard on private grounds. .Any advice would be greatly appreciated ..thanks

Good affordable livery yards are hard to come by in South Dublin. With an indoor, decent turnout and good clean facilities you could charge €60-€75 p/w. Depends on a range of factors such as what you'll include in the package (hay, muckout, turnout, giving the feed if owners leave out etc), what facilities you have (access to good safe hacking, all year turnout, size of arena, jumps, indoor/outdoor stables), etc. If only going with an outdoor arena make sure to get a decent surface and proper drainage as this will make a difference to your liveries!

Will someone be on site 24/7? That is very important for a lot of people.

As a livery myself I know that yard cleanliness and safety, turnout and a caring Y.O that I can trust to take care of my horse when I cant be there are important above all else.

If I think of anything else I'll post it later!

    Hi,

That might be of interest for me as I shall move my two horses from France next mont and I am looking for a DIY livery in South Dublin area. When will the yard be available ?

DIY livery nearby seems to range from €60-75per week as already mentioned. There really aren't very many yards in the area that offer that option at all. DIY is a tough business. There's a lot of competition for livery in the area.

One thing I will say is as a livery owner I always ask about a prospective yard having insurance, so make sure you have that in place. Also remember you will need to register with the dept. Agriculture.

Can I ask how big your indoor will be? I think that will attract a lot of interest as there aren't many in the area so you will have a distinct advantage over others. I know yards that have indoors do charge a premium for them. Are you building an outdoor and an indoor?

Hi there, anyone know of livery yards in South Dublin, or anywhere nearby (not too far from Dublin South)? Would need to be full livery. I suppose I am looking for everything i.e. hacking and turnout but open to all options.

:pac::D at least you have found yourself a few clients before even starting.. it gives you a good indication that you can charge top end... if you follow the advices already given.
