Motorised Valve Replacement cost?

The motorised valve that controls my heating upstairs is stuck on.
    It's a Drayton ZA5 (8 years old). I presume it's dead.
Does the whole unit (including valve) need to be replaced or can the motor part (actuator?) be replaced on its own? It's a sealed system so would be a pain to have to drain down everything to replace the valve.
I presume most plumbers would be able/willing to wire a new actuator?
Any idea of the cost of a new actuator and cost of replacement?
All I can see online is the whole unit including valve (?) is €69.
    Thanks

Do not presume nothing, have you isolated the electrical supply to it and confirmed it is still stuck open?

get a plumber if you are not sure of what you are doing

Drayton motorised valves now incorporate a ‘snap-on’ actuator, which simplifies future servicing. The actuator can be removed from the body simply by pressing the release button on the side and lifting the actuator off the body. This allows easy access for replacement of the motor or for convenience the actuator can be replaced as a complete unit. Features

I have those exact same actuators on my zone valves, and they are beginning to give trouble. Turns out the problem is that the little plastic 'tit' where the spring is being anchored to the actuator body has broken off. So I just repair it by anchoring the spring with a small tie wrap.

The actuator is 'failed closed', i.e. a small electric motor opens the valve and then 2 springs close it when the power is switched off. One spring is usually enough to do the job. So the fact that it remains open suggests the springs are broken or loose (most probably the latter).

So I'd suggest you isolate the power to the system, remove the actuator from the valve then open the actuator body. If the springs are not secured at both ends, then this could be your problem, and easily fixed.
