Does anybody know of a place that could repair a DC08? The performance of the hoover is fine with no issues it's actually the clip (lock symbol) that keeps the section for dust and dirt locked in that's broken.

It's actually not mine I borrowed it of a friend and somehow managed to break it. I was on the phone to Dyson support and they told me the part costs 8e delivered but would rather pay up to 20 to fix it and avoid having to wait. (pretty sure it's literally a spring I need).

Anybody know anywhere that fixes hoovers or would have Dyson parts handy?

The 90 including fixing anything that is suspect or worn so its a great service.
I got mine nearly completely refurbed when the motor went.

    http://spareparts.ie/shop/ in Dublin.

The Dyson service is still great value given they leave your machine as new. I can see if the part is an easy fit then you might do it yourself. You could also have look in the WEEE bin in some retailers, you might someonr has dumped a unit with the bit your looking for?

Realising this is an old thread, I needed to get a Dyson looked at as a part had come off and wouldn't stay fixed back on. This thread pointed me towards their service option.

Rang their service department, to my surprise it was still within the 5 year full guarantee. This morning a very pleasant gentleman arrived, repaired it (missing screw), fully serviced and tested it and has it back as brand new, free of charge.

He was saying many people don't seem to realise they offer this service, even for out of warranty machines, where a 90 euro fee applies, but for within warranty it's free. Posting so that others who aren't aware of it might root out their old machines.
