Can anybody recommend decent accommodation for 2 adults and a child in May in albufeira which will be near to the beach and all amenities. Not looking to pay a fortune but obviously want to stay somewhere clean and comfortable also. -self catering or hotel doesn't really matter . Iv looked up websites but have been advised to do more research as some hotels are miles from the albufeira area.

Club Praia de oura is right on the beach and looks to be great for kids

Praia dos Pescadores is the "town" beach for Albufeira.
We stayed here, http://www.almarhotelapartamento.com/en/, six years ago and found it very convenient for the town centre, with all it's amenities. :)

Stayed in Club Praia de Oura twice, with three young kids and was really happy with it.
Hotel is on the beach and has good facilities including shows etc for kids in the evenings.
It is about a 15 minute walk from the main strip in Albufeira new town.
A supermarket is a small walk up the hill from the hotel.
I'd really recommend it, any questions just ask

We booked Alfagar II Aparthotel for the 3rd week in May. Haven't been there before but it has very good reviews online. We are bringing our 3yr old boy.

They have plenty of facilities for kids and have their own access to a beach. Also have access to the facilities in the sister complex next door. A bit outside the town but we are ok with that.

We stayed here last year at end of May and its a lovely hotel. 15 min walk to the top of the strip but is easy walking. Just bring a jumper for the evenings as a little chilly in May

Hotel Topazio, staying there in June for 10 nights, stayed there last year too and its fantastic, not exactly a family hotel but theres a little playground, pitch and putt for your child along with a small kids pool. Its a 2 minute walk to the strip and a 10 minute walk to the beach, 15 to the old town but buses and taxis run all night. We got the room for 65% off last week, not sure if that deal applies to May though but worth checking out, fantastic quality hotel for a supposed 3 star.
