    Hey folks,
I'm looking to sell my car for cash and i think its fair to say it isn't the type of car that the average person would like to buy.
With that in mind, is there any site in particular ye could recommend that I use, or would one of the general ones do?

(I hope this is ok to post mods!)

Is there a Honda enthusiasts forum akin to Autostadt (for VAG) and BMW-Driver (for obvious) that you could stick it on?

honda-haven.com is the Irish site I used to be the one I went on when I had my civic. I'm sure they've a classifieds section too so worth a try.

Could you give us some details on the car and maybe people could advise you of some good ways to write the ad in order to avoid messers.

Year, mileage, model, NCT, Tax, Service History, some images and recent work carried out.

I think the best thing to ask is:

    -Whats she like on diesel
    -Whats de taaax on dat

    There is, it's called Lawn-mowers.net :D

    Seriously though

    Donedeal
    Backroads.ie

A well put together Ad will go far.

Cheers folks - very kind of ye!

I was going to put further details on my OP but I dunt want it to look like a thinly veiled advert as a result!

It's a 2008 one, very well looked after so perhaps an enthusiastits site might attract someone who appreciates a bit of TLC applied to a car :)

Sold something similar a while back on Donedeal, got plenty of fools calling asking how much the motor tax was (despite it showing on Donedeal now), what mpg it can do, questions that if you need to ask the car simply is not for you.

I know some people say ignore texts, my last 2 cars were sold to people who texted me initially, then after I responded they called and viewed, bought, were sound to deal with.

Put in your ad no swaps wanted, the amount of people wanting to offer things like a 2004 Iveco Breadvan with cash his way etc etc will wreck your head.

Head along to your next local Cars & Coffee and stick a for sale sign on it. You might get a bit of interest there too.

I'll be in the same situ next month.

Have been warned to stay well away from donedeal.

    There's always piston-heads too!

    Aye :(

Not driving it at all and still costing a pretty penny in tax!

    Going the anti tax route:

Shame, but not a terrible alternative, apart from when it rains. :P

Donedeal/Adverts/Carzone is probably your best bet. I wouldn't bother with pistonheads if its an FN2 model as its predominantly uk based and your not going to get any interest from there with it

I know everyone here raves about donedeal but it's the one site I would never use. When I see a car on done deal I automatically assume it's clocked, a ringer, cut 'n shut or something else dodgy. That and the number of morons as described above puts me right off.

Also a type R on donedeal? Prepare for hell, I wouldn't have the patience to deal with it. I'd rather wait months to sell it. Can't understand the fascination with donedeal at all.

Just my opinion. If you can put up with the muppets then fair play to you :)

When buying a car, sorting the genuine ads from the muppets is an art form. When I sold my Civic, I got one text and one call. The lad who called came to see it and ended up buying it. I think a proper ad with good grammar, well formatted information and good pictures scares off all the muppets :P

Aww she was a vtec laad, bit smokey but you know what they say

In all seriousness, it was a 1.6 ek4 in great condition. Priced higher than most as it was clean and had a fair bit of extras on it. Sold it for what I bought it for.

    Just to update ye all,

Car sold at the weekend for €10,250 - via contact through Donedeal.

Thankfully no timewasters so it looks like putting "no timewasters" down the bottom of the ad worked ;)

    Cheers folks

You were just Lucky, putting no time wasters down the bottom wasn't the reason :D

Fair play on the sale though.

No time wasters doesn't work. Not like someone is gonna look at the dad and say to themselves well I'm a time waster so I won't ring him :D
