A friend has SKY presently, and is looking to move off them onto FreeView.

What boxes would be best suited to this change, assuming SKY do not take their satellite dish back?

Sky normally don't take back their equipment. Be careful of the terminology though. Satellite boxes are either FreeSat, Free To Air (FTA) or combo. FreeView is the UK terrestrial system using an aerial and only available near the border or parts of the East coast.

    Thanks for the reply Gerry,

am looking for satellite boxes that can replace the SKY Boxes, the main box has two ethernet cables coming out of the LNB, and the second box has one ...

    1. Do I need to use both cables in the first box, on my Free to Air LNB, there is one connection from LNB to each TV box

    2. The box I have at present is ....

    TELEVES - 7118 - DIGITAL SATELLITE RECEIVER

It works with my own dish, and LNB .. would there be issues connecting to the SKY dish?

I assume you mean 2 coax cables with screw on connections not ethernet. The reason for 2 cables is to allow for 2 satellite tuners, 1 recording while other watching or even both recording. As far as I know, the Televes has only 1 tuner, therefore only 1 cable. The Sky dish should work with any box as they use the same free to air signals. A typical setup would have 2 cables from the dish going to the main box and a single one going to each other box in the kitchen or bedroom.
