i was thinking Gasket, but when i rev the engine a bit, the shaking and vibration is gone COMPLETELY, and only starts up (very obvious) when i stop revving the engine. It feels like some sort of fuel / air mixture problem. Any thoughts?

Had this recently with my CLK - turns out it was two perished pipes in the engine + an idle control valve. It was fixed quick enough and I believe it's quite cheap, I was covered with warranty.

I was also getting these two engine codes: P0102 & P0172

Why do people guess gasket for everything, it's almost never the gasket :D
Could be a hose or ICV, possibly dirty throttle body.
Start with hoses, they are easiest to check.

You can start by simply squeezing the hoses while it's running. Don't get clothes caught by moving parts!

I wonder would usign my OBD2 adapter with Torque Android app give back error codes to indicate if it was the ICV. Gonna try the adapter tonight.

Just thought i'd give an update, The OBD2 adapter and app reports no error codes and everything seems to be within ideal ranges. I know its a good thing but was kinda of hoping id find something that could have been contributing to this.

If the ICV was faulty, wouldnt the ECU report an error code?
