How often do you find yourself editing your posts?

When using boards on the mobile, I often find through laziness, fast typing or auto correct, I am often making mistakes and have to edit the post.

I do it a lot. Change my mind on re-reading my own post. Ninja edits are best!

I try not to edit the post, I'll just send the mail back if it's not mine. No point tampering with property that isn't mine.

    To correct poor spelling mostly.

To remove profanity, racism and sexism

It's silly when people edit their post to change an opinion when they realise it's not popular. I mean, if someone has already quoted them the original statment is there for all to see.

I like when people post on a thread and then after realising that the vast majority of posters are taking a contrary position edit it to remove their unpopular opinion.

No point doing that though as people will have quoted your original post, so there for all to see.

I like living on the edge by trying to edit my post to the way I want it before the dreaded "Last edited by" gets stamped on the bottom of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭Steve_Carella

For some reason I don't seem to be able to edit posts, when I try to edit it just posts the same post again with the edit in.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

Mods can see the unedited and edited versions of your post.
Makes it confusing for them if your edit is a polar opposite of the original. :D

Normally I do to correct typos or add in an extra point that I just thought of or forgot.

I try to do it before the "last edited by" gets stamped on it, then I deem it a small victory in my mind haha

    Almost constantly.

Due in part to sloppy phone posting but also to the impulsiveness of genius, often thinking of even more beautiful ways to phrase my posts seconds after giving them life.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,106 ✭✭✭catallus

Wouldn't the impulsiveness of genius make them as beautiful as they're going to get when you have just given them life?

Editing posts is just polishing the turd, really.

I just did it again in another thread!!! Grrrr.

Gotta slow down with the typing on phone!

You just need to practice your fingering.

Sometimes you make a brain fart post, and on reflection, you should prob go back and edit it, before someone pulls you on it.

Quickly get back to post, delete/amend load of drivel to some kind of coherent sentence, deleting complete waffle that can be debunked in a shot.

Grand, perfect crime, doesn't even have the "last edited by" tagged to it, Nina edits are best, perfect crime.

Next thing you know, some tit has already quoted me.

I usually type on my phone, and my fingers are too fat keys are too small to get the spellings correct first-time around.
