LASIK at Optilase

    Hi all,

I just had my consultation at Optilase and I'm set on getting laser eye surgery ASAP. After going over both LASIK and LASEK I've decided LASIK sounds like the best option for me.
However, I was quoted 3400€ which is with the 100€ friend referral discount. And I'm just wondering if there is any chance of them lowering the price? I'm -3.5 in each eye and was told I'm a perfect candidate so I'm just wondering why they quoted me so much, it seems that price is usually for people with a higher prescription.
Is haggling a done thing when it comes to laser eye surgery? Has anyone else made optilase lower their price?
I'd like to know I'm getting the best deal before I get it done.

    Thanks in advance

That's what I paid (€3,400 less €100 friend referral) last October for Lasik from Optilase. Do you know you can claim back 20% in tax? It helps take some of the pain out of it :) Not sure what my prescription was tbh but not sure that makes any difference. I'd say their prices are pretty well fixed anyway. Good luck whichever choice you make. Mine went great and I'm a happy customer!

Same price I was quoted too, sounds standard enough. I had LASIK with Wavefront and I think I was around -2.5.

I paid half up front and the rest over 6 months, which was interest free. Same price but it took the sting out of it.

Had great results so far so on that basis it was definitely worth it. Good luck with it if you go ahead.

I paid €3290 just 2 weeks ago. Included a €200 facebook offer. Had Lasik and so far so good! Eyesight is perfect, no pain and very happy with the post care they offer. I went to Ely Place and was impressed with them. I also have a €100 ref for anyone that wants it.

    Best of luck!!

Just an update if anyone wants to know: I got my LASIK surgery done on February 14th 2015 at Optilase at Ely Place in Dublin and it was the best decision I've made!
There was no pain during the surgery, it was all very relaxed and calming, the staff are amazing and the after care is so so good.
    I can't recommend Optilase enough!

I have a €100 referral if anyone wants it :) Just pm me

Had mine done there over 5 weeks ago. Eyes were -3 both and are now 25/20! Still have some dry eye which is to be expected and my eyes are different re night vision if looking at car lights etc the right eye is normal but the left has the burst effect. Of course still early and will most likely settle.

I get that light burst effect at night time too with car headlights but my vision was quite bad before laser eye surgery so I experienced that kind of effect back then anyway so it doesn't bother me that much right now!
My right eye is a bit dryer than my left, I forgot to put my eye drops in one night last week and the next morning my eyes felt quite gritty and sore, so eye drops are definitely needed post surgery for the first few months!

Yea I will continue to use the drops for the coming weeks. They have provided me with plenty too! I had the burst with both eyes before surgery so already an improvement on that. But would love to see the left eye get rid of it as I love looking at night skies! :)

Yep! And to think of all the hassle, discomfort and money it will save over time! Already worth it!

Did anyone who had it done have astigmatism?
