Fluoride and toothpaste

    There is fluoride in our water, do we need to blush our teeth with fluoride toothpaste aswell? Isnt too much fluoride bad for us?

    Fluoride in water is about 1ppm it is for ingestion purposes for developing permanent teeth. Really only beneficial for those under 12.
    Fluoride in tooth paste is for a topical effect , to help remineralise early decay in enamel. Thus it is good for all ages .

    If you're *eating* tubes upon tubes of toothpaste, then yes.
    Otherwise, for cleaning/brushing, no.
