some of these come without covers etc?

damn it, had yakuza and halo anniversary in my basket and they were sold out!

Sometimes they come without covers. Most of the ones I've received have had covers but no manual.

These are preowned games or ex rental games from Xtravision stores, they are taken from the shelf by xtravision staff and posted out, there isn't a warehouse full of games, just what store they come from is random though I believe.

Thanks for the tip though OP got a few I've been after for a while.

Bought a fairly large amount of games from here already and all have had books and covers. Just purchased 10 more, I'm expecting half of them to be out of stock though, typically when I got the 4 for €15 offer, 1-2 games were out of stock when the order went through. Always received a refund for games not sent so this is always worth a go but don't hold your breath. Lots of threads on here in relation to this.

No such thing as an online voucher, credit/debit card only.

You can use One4All vouchers on XV / HMV website though. Just in case anyone was interested :)

Yesh this promotion is live in most of the stores now as well, picked up 6 PS3 games in Crumlin for €18 yesterday. Few of them are worth more in credit in CeX too so it's worth it for games you wanted to play through quickly then get rid of.

That's the only one I want from that list... it'll probably be one of the games with gold soon

It appears you can't use the one4all to make a partial payment online at least the full value of the order needs to be on the card. No spreading it.

A lot of games also awaiting stock.

    If you're ordering online it's 2 for €8 really as it's €6 + €2 postage.

For a minute there I thought I was gonna get Force Unleashed 1 & 2 for €6... the first one is out of stock. So close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,797 ✭✭✭sweetie

2 of my games arrived this morning with postage of 1.65 each, can't see them making much money on this!

Sure they probably gave some child €1 store credit for the traded in game. I wont exactly shed a tear for them

You could be right, I remember trading in some games in the old game. One of the the games was "manhunt" they were selling preowned copies for €19, they offered me a euro for it. Told them to go hop. I could understand if they were selling it for a fiver, that it wasn't worth anything, but f**k me, wasn't going to let them make €18 on it. I am guessing they don't make near that on a new game.

For whatever reason they don't seem to bundle the sales. Maybe they post from individual shops or something. If they do then that's crazy.

But €6 for 2 games with €3.30 postage, for a gross profit of €2.70 is alsolutely nuts.

probably like CEX, they send from different stores.

Yeah they just send out purchase orders from whatever store has them in stock, I was in one yesterday and they were picking out games to be sent out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭Greenmachine

Feck all on the shelf of my nearest xtra-vision. Nothing worth buying. :(
Did see anyone behind the counter, I spent a few minute going up and down the aisles to make sure I hadn't missed the rest of their games.
About 10 games on the shelf max as part of the promotion. That was between ps3 and xbox 360.

No surprise that they are not shipping the hardware as pictured with the bundled game.

Got an EyePet to suss it out and they told me the picture on the site is for illustration purposes only. They're willing to refund me which is fair enough.

I bought 20 games and was only charged 2 euro for postage for everything.

are they providing the hardware e.g. guitar on the music games? pictures seem to indicate it but seems unlikely?

read the text under the pics.

No chance of getting the hardware for that.

Just got my dispatch email one week after ordering. And 6 out of 8 games have been cancelled. The two games been delivered are the ones I wanted least. Absolutely can't stand them taking an order and the money when they don't have the stock in the first place. Never again.

Took a week for them to email me too, all 4 games I ordered have been cancelled. Very disappointing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,063 ✭✭✭Greenmachine

Still full listing on the site. Once people are receiving cancellation, site should be appended to remove void stock items. Order say 10 games at €30+ 2 for postage and receiving 2 games and paying €10 is pretty different. Games are now 30% more expensive than anticipated and you could end up with the last two games on your wish list.

I got 3 out of 6, it's frustrating the way they do it but on the payment they only took payment after despatch, so they never charged me for the ones they cancelled. I got 3 games for €9 so that's ok. I was ordering some other stuff anyway so no extra postage.

Were you still charged €2 postage
