The Optima would be in the class higher than the Corolla, do you need that big a car?
    They definitely look the part.

    How big is the family?

Optima is closely related to the hyundai i40. You might find one if those easier to find.

i40 is more plentiful but the Optima is higher spec and with the right colour and wheels looks very tasty. Both use the same engine but the Optima gets the more powerful 136bhp as standard whereas most i40s are 115bhp.

Ya need that size have a one year old and planning no 2. corolla was brilliant for us we have it 8 years and never let us down once. Very economical but just too small for buggy and shopping etc. Kia def looks nice and would still have dealer warrenty till 2019. I have seen them advertised for 19500 -22000 for milage ranging from 20000 miles - 50000 miles. Is it too much, are there better and cheaper cars out there that look good too

A neighbour around the corner from me has one in white with those 18" alloy wheels and black panoramic roof. Optima's interior has aged poorly though, too many cluttered buttons on the centre console and steering wheel imo.

I prefer the less in your face grey:

Just remember that the Kia warranty is limited to 7 years or 150,000km whichever comes first and Kia also require that it gets a main dealer inspection once a year.

ya ive spotted that one in the pic wheels are class and colour too.The missus likes the passat cc but i think way too dear and milage too high in all ive seen

Yeah I had a Passat CC, they are pricey alright but you get a lot of it back when you come to sell it on. Optima is a lot of bang for your bucks second hand though. Them and the i40 could do with more powerful diesel engine options though imo.

While you might consider the CC a bit expensive, it will hold its value better than the Optima. The warranty that accompanies the Optima is certainly a very attractive perk also. You could consider the Peugeot 508 too, a lot of 2013 models for c. €20k online. Some 2010 F10 5 series for c. €20k also.
