Motorola Moto E won't receive texts - but can send them?

The other half's Motorola Moto E, (only 4 months old), has not been receiving texts in the last 24 hours or so.

It can send them alright, but will not receive them. Have sent numerous texts from a few phones and they will not receive at all.

Another weird thing, yesterday morning she got a "text" from me, but here's the thing, I had sent that over a month ago and it delivered then, but it randomly sent it to her again.

We're on eMobile, but I have no problem texting others or receiving texts either.

    Anybody got any idea?

whatever your messaging app is, get another one. so say if you are using gosms pro use handcent or something like that. if she is using the generic one, install one from the play store. I have just given you 2 examples.
also check to see if any messaging apps need updates.

She's using the standard sms that comes as default with the phone.

But the fact that she can send messages and they deliver fine, it's a weird one.

It's not a memory issue as nearly 1gb is free in space and loads of text conversations have been deleted.

install something like gosms pro or chomp. handcent. hello
all these apps are quite good.
gosms pro for me has over 14000 texts as i have used it since I got my wildfire. It allows me as well to save all texts to dropbox when i change phones. just try it, I take it you have rebooted the phone and checked apn settings?

Any chance that her phone numbers have ended up on a spam list and the texts are being blocked by the phone?

    Thanks for suggestions.

Downloaded gopro sms and still the same issue.

So called into the phone shop, and guess what, two days after not receiving any messages at all, about 50 messages came through in the space of a minute en route to the phone shop.

The salesperson said "a few people called into us with that issue over last couple days" so seems it was a sporadic network issue.

    All resolved now though.
