Challenge 149: The Animal Kingdom

The theme for this Challenge is ‘The Animal Kingdom’( excluding humans as the only subject in the photo) so it incorporates a very wide range of possible subjects from insects and jellyfish right through to back-garden birds or the family pet!



Some examples:










I will not be around to close off the challenge on Saturday evening 2 weeks from now so have pushed the closing date back to the Sunday.


Rules:
-Closing Date is 2 weeks(approx) from now - that is Sunday 8/2/2015 at 8pm.
- Only photos taken with this challenge in mind qualify. Therefore the photo must be taken between now(8am on 24/1/2015 )and 8pm 8/2/2015 and so no 'old ' photos are to be used.
-The photo must be taken by the person submitting it.
-Only one photo per post, but submit as many posts as you like.
-The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time.

Not sure if this counts seeing as its not alive but a killer whale washed up on a beach in Waterford yesterday, apparently it died at sea and got washed in by a storm yesterday.

The Challenge has concluded.

Thanks to all who entered and voted!

There was a late flurry of activity in the challenge with some great ‘last minute’ entries.

But the winner ( with 28 votes) is Virtual with this almost surreal image of 2 deer looking in the directions of the arms on the Papal Cross and that really ominous cloud overhead- a truly deserving winner!



Hard luck to Adrian in 2nd place, just one vote behind, with that pin-sharp photo of a seagull with a crab lunch!
