    Hey all

I have a buyer for my macbook so I am looking to erase everything from it and reset it.

    How is this done?

Boot into Recovery (or boot from a recovery disk/USB), open Disk Utility, select your hard drive (Macintosh HD more than likely), choose the erase tab. There are instructions there on erasing drive so that the data is unrecoverable. The process involves writing garbage over the old data. This will take a long time.

After that you will then need to exit out of Disk Utility and install OS X again.
