Garmin help

Hello all, I got a gift of a new Garmin Nuvi 55. I had previously a Mio Moov in which i had about 90 or more favourites saved. I need to transfer my favourites from the Mio Moov (now saved on my desktop) to my new Garmin. From what i can gather i need to, i think, convert the files from xml to gpx . Any advice appreciated…
