Repeat module passed by compensation

Can't find any information on the university website so I thought someone here might know.

When you pass an exam by compensation, can you choose to resit it in August?
    I'm in second year.
The module in question is compulsory, not required so I think it is possible to pass by compensation. Problem is, in order to get my accounting exemptions, I can't pass by compensation.

My only hope is to pass without compensation (not feeling confident right now) or to fail by enough that I have to repeat.

As far as I know you can only resit exams, in order to raise your grade, in your final year.

Always heard this was the case, but maybe ask your department if you need a 40% in the module for exemptions, mightn't work but worth a try anyway.

I visited my department in person after final year results to look over papers as I wanted to repeat to raise my grade. Ended up not having to repeat so has to be worth your while checking with them or a specific lecturer.

Actually you've reminded me of some people that I know who were given the option of resitting their exams so that they could qualify into 2nd year so you might actually have the option after all. Doesn't hurt to try anyway!

    Hopefully.
I'd imagine it has been an issue before, they just don't clarify it in their handbook unfortunately.
