I'm just wondering is it OK for my friend to plumb my shower. He's a builder and knows the ins and outs of what goes where. I've asked him and he said he's legally aloud to do it but he's to get an electrician in to wire it up at 200euro a day. I've been thinking of asking a proper plumber instead of my mate in case he's not legally aloud to do this.

Better to get a plumber where water and electricity are concerned.
There's more to it than just fitting the Shower. Cable size size. rating. Distance, Breaker size, RCBO.
You'll sleep better at night also.

The plumbing is simple enough to them.

But simple things are only simple to people who know what they are at.

Not clear what is being done here but if there is cabling back to the consumer unit then I believe you need a RECI.
Check in electrical to see what is allowed

If a circuit is to be wired back to the DB, and connected to it, then a registered electrical contractor is required.

Can he legally charge for it as well. I'd hate to break the law and pay him lol.

He won't be touching the electrical side. Theres 10sq wire already in place so no need to run wires back to fuse box. Will I have to get electrician in just to connect 3 wires?
