Only getting round to sending back census form now,see if you have hill sheep you have to put on mark you have on them on form, that's ok in my book but noticed a letter in IFJ of Jan 17th where a farmer contacted Dept and got answer that people are under no obligation to fill in said part of form...I would imagine by not filling it you might be drawing an inspection on yourself!!!;)
    What do others reckon?

I filled mine in thinking the same. I got an inspection in November and don't want another for time being. I think you can be penalised for not filling out the form correctly or complete it

I filled it in, I even got coloured pens for branding the sheep drawing :pac:

Can't see the harm in it tbh.

Sheep census deadline is this Friday the 30th.

    Is that for 2014 ?
I got the flock no. last December but hadn't any sheep until this January think is there any need to return an empty census ?

What date in dec did ya get it?
You might have to put in a zero census if you had the no. before the date

You definitely need to complete census if you got one even though you had no sheep at the time, can hold up payments if you don't

You can but, you've to get passwords and register with the department. Takes a week or two to do this ( or used to anyway ) so won't be set up in time for deadline. If that's the case then paper option is the best.

registered a fortnight ago and had the letter with my password 2 days after applying. think things a bit quicker now because you have to go online for national reserve and young farmer grant.

For the past 2 years I have tried unsuccessfully to do my Goat census online. I cannot find the online form- any where. On the printed form that I received in post it says " Online Census- while you have received a pre-printed form, registered users may submit their 2014 Sheep/Goat Census online. Registered users will have the advantage of having these same pre printed details available to them when they log on the Dept's website. a 2014 Census that is completed and submitted online to the Dept. will be accepted as a valid application. The Closing date of 30/01/15 also applies to online census.........

Great how can I do it ??????? Where is the online form when I log on.... The agfood.ie is the most frustrating web site I have ever come across ever I manage to lock myself out often then I have to ring to get the staff to unlock my account...... There is no reference to the census a contributor to this thread has said its hidden in the Single payment section.
    AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    Yes - from memory...
Ag food homepage - select Single Farm payment
Then open menu up top - I can't remember what the tab is called but it's maybe 3rd tab / menu item in
Sheep census - I think the goat census may be the same form.

Sorry can't be more helpful, but not in front of the PC now.

The other thing about filing on line, is they don't issue you with an email confirming you did it right. It's only a simple thing, but would give you comfort knowing the thing was successfully received.
